SPIE relies on HoloBuilder for Digital Twins

Bild1

Since 2023, SPIE has successfully conducted multiple pilot projects utilizing 360-degree imaging to develop digital twins.

The versatile applications of HoloBuilder have proven highly valuable for SPIE across various areas. By utilizing 360-degree images and digital twins, many benefits arise that make processes more efficient and transparent. Especially in capturing rooms, equipment, documenting defects, surveying, and generating defect reports, the technology’s great potential becomes evident. Positive feedback from selected pilot projects highlights how HoloBuilder delivers real-world results and sustainable improvements.

In one pilot project, SPIE documented rooms and equipment using 360-degree images stored on the HoloBuilder platform. These images, enriched with additional data such as nameplates and warranty information, enable comprehensive, secure documentation of spaces and assets that can be virtually toured and edited. Another pilot project focused heavily on defect documentation. The combination of 360-degree and 2D images, along with detailed descriptions, allowed for precise defect reporting. The documentation process with HoloBuilder is easy, intuitive, and high quality. Defects and issues can be recorded without gaps. In several pilot projects, the 360-degree images’ high accuracy and document linking enabled efficient and thorough reporting.

Another significant benefit of using HoloBuilder was identified in remote support. In a pilot project involving a newly constructed building with state-of-the-art technology, the initial 360-degree capture served as an ideal basis for condition documentation, warranty tracking, and maintenance. The digital twin enables much more efficient maintenance and remote assistance, as detailed floor plans and essential equipment information—such as nameplates, maintenance logs, and condition reports—are available online.

Beyond its functionality, HoloBuilder impresses from the very first use with its user-friendliness. The camera and app are simple and intuitive to operate.
