At SPIE, we explore digitalization trends and innovative technologies by testing use cases through proof of concepts based on clearly defined expectations.
Our projects and use cases, assigned to the two strategic pillars “MARKETS & CUSTOMERS” and “PROCESSES & PERFORMANCE,” focus on four key areas: Smart Services (Data Analytics, AI & IoT, Digital Twins), VR & AR, Robotics, and Automated Processes.
When selecting our projects, we focus on our strategic objectives:
Customer Experience: We enhance our service portfolio for clients through data-driven Smart Services.
Business Analytics: Leveraging IoT, big data, analytics, and a single source of truth, we help our clients gain a competitive advantage.
Operational Excellence: By scaling proven solutions across operations and client projects, we streamline processes and improve performance along the entire value chain.
We intentionally apply a "fail early" approach to to efficiently assess the viability of digital solutions for specific use cases. Each use case is defined based on clear criteria and expectations, then validated through prototyping within our Innovation Lab at ARENA2036.
Once a solution has proven to deliver the expected results, we evaluate its practical applicability and concrete added value through pilot projects — for example, in collaboration with our customers. Only then do we develop business cases to support decisions on industrializing the solution. The roll-out is managed by product owners from both the business units and IT, ensuring that best-practice solutions are deployed across the entire group.
