BIM as the Single Source of Truth - A Holistic Approach for the EUREF Campus Düsseldorf

Benefits

Zentralized Data Management
Increased Efficiency
Enhanced Communication
User-Friendly Interface
Streamlined Renovations

EUREF Campus Düsseldorf employs Building Information Modeling (BIM) as the single source of truth for all planning data, ensuring efficiency and accuracy throughout every phase of construction and operation.

By using BIM as the central data repository and management tool, processes are optimized. A key application is the generation of up-to-date and precise plans directly from the BIM model, simplifying coordination among trades and reducing planning errors.

Additionally, furniture layouts for room booking systems can be exported, enabling efficient space management. Facility management benefits as well, with equipment and room registers exported directly from the BIM model and integrated into Planon, a leading software solution. This guarantees data consistency and up-to-date information, providing clear insights into resources and their status, thereby supporting efficient maintenance and upkeep planning.

Using BIM as a single source of truth also facilitates accurate planning and execution of renovations. Changes are made directly in the model, enabling smooth coordination and minimizing operational disruptions.

To make access easier for non-expert users, the campus offers a web platform for the digital twin, allowing stakeholders—from facility managers to tenants—to easily extract specific information such as room sizes and features.

Overall, the EUREF Campus demonstrates how BIM as a single source of truth increases efficiency, reduces errors, and optimizes operations—setting a benchmark for future construction and facility management projects.
