Our digital strategy defines how we accelerate digital transformation
As a multitech service provider, we actively shape the digital future. We deploy digital solutions to create added value for our customers. This enables us to further strengthen our market position while simultaneously increasing our attractiveness as an employer. Attracting and retaining skilled professionals is a crucial part of this journey.

Digital technologies are reshaping and enhancing business processes. They open up new possibilities to control systems, streamline workflows, and deliver added value. Their full potential, however, is only realised when the right foundations are in place. That’s where we come in — providing a robust infrastructure backbone, a clear data strategy, a culture of experimentation that turns ideas into scalable use cases, and deep expertise spanning both technical and operational requirements.

Backed by strong technical expertise, we position ourselves as a trusted solution partner and guide our customers through the digital transformation
We are committed to continuously improving existing solutions and exploring new use cases. This journey involves a transformation that requires a fundamental cultural shift — extending beyond the boundaries of our own organisation. Therefore, our digitalisation strategy is built on three equally important pillars.
As a technical service provider, our employees are key to our success. Their expertise and knowledge enable us to support our customers as a reliable partner. Accordingly, the first pillar of our strategy is “People.” We promote a digital culture and mindset that fosters the exploration and implementation of innovative solutions. Our customers demand high performance, which is why we leverage digital capabilities to optimise our processes—forming the basis of the “Processes & Performance” pillar. Our customer-centric approach drives all our initiatives. With deep expertise in "Markets & Customers", we are committed to providing the best services through intelligent and effective solutions.
Digital transformation, climate change, and demographic shifts are the key drivers of our business. We adapt accordingly and align our digital strategy to meet these challenges.
As a sustainable company...
...we deploy digital solutions to extend the lifecycle of technical assets, maximize system availability, and optimize energy efficiency during the planning phase. The foundation of resource-saving and energy-efficient operational and production concepts lies in comprehensive data that is purposefully collected and analyzed.
Operational, production, and maintenance data, combined with external factors, create an expanded picture of technical assets — the so-called digital twin. It is a virtual representation of a physical asset, process, system, or environment that looks and behaves exactly like its real-world counterpart. As part of our planning services, we already create digital twins that allow simulation of the operational phase.
Moreover, assets and infrastructures are designed and built as intelligent, interconnected systems integrated within the Internet of Things (IoT).
Optimized workflows, coordinated with all trades, prevent defects that would otherwise require additional resources and energy to fix. Accordingly, we utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications and establish the digital construction site as a twin to the real one. The use of additive manufacturing processes enables optimized spare parts management, as 3D-printed components typically have a lower carbon footprint. Furthermore, it improves our maintenance agility by minimizing reliance on long delivery times.
As an Employer of Choice...
... we leverage digital technologies to enhance our attractiveness and support the targeted recruitment of skilled professionals. By digitizing processes, administrative tasks can be automated and technical professions made more appealing. For example, we integrate asset-specific information into digital twins as knowledge repositories. Additionally, less experienced employees can receive remote support from seasoned experts.
At SPIE, AI already handles simple office and knowledge work tasks, based on our internal ChatGPT solution, "AIWA". This allows employees to fully focus on their core responsibilities.
To reduce physical strain in ergonomically challenging tasks, we use exoskeletons. These wearable robotic systems support or amplify movements, which is particularly helpful in installation work or civil engineering.
Digital solutions permeate our way of working. They simplify our daily tasks and strengthen our core competencies. By automating administrative processes — for example, through Robotic Process Automation (RPA) — repetitive manual input of digitally available information is eliminated. Artificial intelligence assists and expands our expertise. As a result, the focus shifts toward developing knowledge and leveraging our employees’ technical skills.
